The environs of Swaraj Maidan echoed with chantings of Jai Govinda during the Mahalakshmi Yagam on Friday.
The second day of the yagam started with Snapanam. The Vishvaksena Aradhana, 108-Kalasa Aradhana, Ashtha Dikpalaka Avahana, Homam were also part of the ritual that were performed at the Yagna Vatika. Bhimavaram-based Sri Bhashyakara Siddhantha Peetham pontiff Sri Tridandi Ramachandra Ramanuja Jeeyar performed Tirmanjanam to Sri Bhu, Goda, Govinda perumallu.
Discourses
A few yards away from the Yagasalas, discourses were conducted by Jeeyar Swamys invited from various places across the State.
Huge mandapams for the devotees to sit and other basic amenities were arranged. The organisers say that the Yagam is being performed for ‘Loka Kalyanam’.
The ‘yagasala’ was set up on a sprawling foreground of the temple and it would end with Srivaari Santi Kalyanam and Poornahuti on March 27.
