Relay fast by textile traders enters fourth day

Opposition parties express solidarity

The relay hunger strike of cloth merchants reached fourth-day on Saturday. As many as 45 cloth and textile traders were on fast demanding the State government to withdraw four per cent Value Added Tax imposed on the textiles.

The opposition parties expressed their solidarity with the agitating traders, and assured their fullest cooperation. Mylavaram MLA and TDP district president Devineni Umamaheswara Rao, Vijayawada (West) MLA Velampalli Srinivasa Rao, YSR Congress Party leader Tadi Sakuntala, CITU leaders Muzaffer Ahmed, Ajay Kumar, Vastra Sangam President Choumchu Malayadri, and others visited the dharna.
