Ramesh Hospitals have completed 10,000 heart surgeries in the Silver Jubilee year.
Addressing a press conference here on Friday Ramesh Hospitals managing director and chief cardiologist P. Ramesh Babu said that the hospitals were able to achieve the surgeries with a success rate of over 99 per cent. Besides the surgeries, the hospital had the credit of performing 8,000 angioplasties, he said.
Dr. Ramesh Babu said that the silver jubilee of the hospital was being celebrated in a big way on January 26, the Republic Day. Fronteir Lifeline Hospitals chairman K.M.Cherian was the chief guest.
Former NIMS director D.Prasada Rao, senior cardiologists from Care and Apollo groups would grace in the celebrations with their presence, he said.
Dr. Ramesh Babu said that most of the 10,000 operations were conducted using the ‘beating heart’ method. The patients ranging from newborn babies to nonagenarians included several NRIs and patients from abroad like Pakistan, Iran, New Zealand and Belgium.
More than 4,000 people living Below the Poverty Line had undergone heart surgeries with support from the Chief Minister’s and Prime Minister’s Relief Funds. More then six lakh patients underwent treatment during the 25 years, he said.
He said that all this was possible by the dedicated service of 100 specialists and 1,000 paramedical staff.
