Rally to mark co-op movement

At a time when many villages boycotted the swinging machines owing to danger they pose, residents of Gilakaladindi have erected four machines this season. Enjoying the freedom they granted by their parents, boys and girls turned up at the game of swinging machine in which boys strive to impress the girls during the entire evening. Philanthrophists and Government agencies readied food and water packets in Vijayawada and transported to the three north Andhra Districts for distribution among the Hudhud Cyclone victims on Monday. Help has been pouring from all quarters with several associations providing transport facilities, vegetables, rice and other commodities. The Hindu photographer V. Raju captures some of the efforts.
