Students from various colleges took out a rally on Sunday demanding that the government consult youth before drafting the State Youth Policy 2016. The rally organised by Vijayawada Needs U (VNU) also marks the launch of ‘Yuva Sankalpam’, a campaign for youth leaders to contribute to the growth of nation.

Students raised ‘Yuvatha Meluko Desanni Yeluko’ slogans as they marched with national flags at the Andhra Loyola College.

Addressing the gathering, VNU founder K. Naga Sravan said that as part of the campaign interaction sessions would be held with students of various colleges till August 12, International Youth Day.

He said that he would be attending the United Nations Youth Assembly to be held in New York from August 10 to 12.

Formation of State youth council and State youth advisory committee, making youth as important stakeholders in development of the State are among other demands of the activists.
