The heavy downpour on Wednesday evening gave the much-needed respite to the denizens, who were suffering from scorching heat.

The day broke to an overcast weather and cool breeze that brought down the temperature.

The drizzles drenched the city and the denizens who were caught off-guard.

The heavy downpour inundated all the important thoroughfares and hampered the road expansion and repair works in several areas.

According to a report by early warning centre of Andhra Pradesh State Planning and Development Society, the highest rainfall of 10 mm was registered in Gollapudi as on 8 p.m., and it was more than 5 mm in other areas of the city.

Pinnamaneni Polyclinic Road, Siddhartha Nagar, One-town, Moghajrajpuram, M.G. Road and others were waterlogged.

Meanwhile, the weather man predicts moderate rainfall for the next three days in the city.
