The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) has termed the Railway Budget forward-looking and realistic.
CII Vijayawada Zone chairman Cmdr. V.V.M. Krishna said linking railway tariff with fuel prices was realistic and innovative because it was being done for the first time in the country. The budget which had elements like public-private partner (PPP) for the development of the ailing railways was forward-looking. The proposal to introduce high speed trains would go a long way in improving the image of Indian Railways.
He said the Railway Budget was overall ‘growth-oriented’ and ‘non-populist’.
