A round table conference on Rachabanda has decided to approach the district collector over the police and public representatives' attitude and behaviour at the programme.
The CPI (M) city unit organised the round table here on Thursday.
On the occasion, the speakers felt that there was no room for public grievances at the Racchabanda.
The programme is being organised amidst tight security and heavy presence of police.
The people were not allowed to raise their problems and pending issues.
The police were behaving as if their prime duty was security of MLAs, and the people cannot raise their problems, they said, adding, they would approach Police Commissioner in this regard.
Though the Rachabanda was a government's mass contact programme, it was turned into a Congress party affair.
Only Congress activists and leaders were being allowed at the venue. The Rachabanda has utterly failed on all fronts.
The problems at the programme were plenty.
To cite few: pensioners were not being given pass books, the welfare schemes were not reaching the poor, no record of applications received etc., they added.
CPI(M) State Committee member Ch. Babu Rao, CPI city secretary K. Subba Raju, TDP Vijayawada (Central) constituency incharge Bonda Umamaheswara Rao, Lok Satta Party leader Ch. Rajendraprasad and others spoke.
