A poster giving rough details of the kind of programmes that would be taken up at the fourth World Telugu Conference (WTC) and its goals and objectives along with other publicity material like pamphlets and booklets were released by the Minister for Secondary Education Kolusu Parthasarathy at his camp office here on Tuesday.

The Minister said the State government was releasing, as a prelude to the WTC that was being conducted after a gap of 37 years, Rs.20 lakh for conducting a cultural campaign in every district.


Top on the objectives of the goals and objectives of the conference was preparation of an action plan to endear the children and youth to Telugu language.

Another important objective listed on the poster was to strengthen and enrich Telugu language technical keeping in view globalisation. The Minister said that the objective of the cultural campaign was to involve the people of village, mandal and revenue division in the WTC that was going to be held in Tirupati from December 27 to 29.

It was the duty of the district administration and the WTC district cultural campaign committee to ensure that WTC posters, pamphlets, stickers, and flags reach every house in a village.

“Competitions would be conducted in essay-writing, debating, poetry-writing and quiz for students. Every teacher should tell the students the significance of the WTC. The culture department has already issued to the district administrations guidelines for conducting the cultural campaign.”

Interesting amongst the guidelines for conducting the campaign was conduct of a massive rally in the district to promote awareness about WTC.
