The Samaikyandhra Parirakshna Samithi and the Samaikyandhra JAC Krishna district unit will jointly conduct a public meeting at Vuyyuru on November 17 to keep the people abreast of the developments on the bifurcation front.
Krishna district JAC chairman and APNGO Association leader A.Vidya Sagar, addressing a press conference here on Wednesday, said that the employees and people of Seemandhra had been agitating relentlessly against the bifurcation of the State. However, the Union Ministers from the region had been continuously changing their stand on the burning issue.
Ministers draw flak
The Union Ministers, who first said that they would resign if the Central government proposed bifurcation of the State, had gone back on their word.
They promised to resign if a note was sent to the Cabinet suggesting bifurcation, but they failed to keep their word a second time. After the Cabinet note the Union Ministers have now changed their tune saying that they would not allow the issue to progress, but now they were writing a letter to the Group of Ministers (GoM) on various aspects related to the bifurcation of the State. They were, in fact, behaving like a second group of Ministers, Mr. Sagar said.
He asked the Union Ministers from Seemandhra region to come out with their stand on the issue of bifurcation clearly and stick to it.
Protest schedule
The Krishna district Samaikyandhra JAC has planned daily programmes protesting against the proposal to bifurcate the State. Protest rallies will be taken out in several places against the GoM meeting on Thursday.
Multi-faith prayer meetings will be held from 5.30 p.m. in the city on Friday. Women will take out rallies at different places on Saturday and the NGOs will take out candle rallies along with their family members on Monday evening.
Lunch-hour demonstrations will be conducted by the State government employees along with the general public on Tuesday (November 12). Stickers will be fixed on trains and vehicles going out of station on Wednesday.
Students will celebrate the birth anniversary of Jawaharlal Nehru on November 14 and take out rallies to protest against the division of the State. The Schedule Caste and Scheduled Tribe employees will take out rallies on November 15 (Friday) demanding an end to the bifurcation process.
