Probe ordered against slaughter houses

Municipal Commissioner A.V.S.N. Maruthi Diwakar said that a probe into the quality of beef being sold at slaughter houses here had been ordered. “The inquiry will look into hygienic conditions at slaughter houses located on the premises of general market and process of certification for health check-up of the animal,” Mr. Maruthi Diwakar said.

However, the municipal authorities have reports that beef without any certification from the civic bodies was also being sold out in the town.

Violators to face music

“Necessary actions will be taken against the violators of existing guidelines. We will even register cases against the violators once our plan come into force soon,” added Mr. Maruthi Diwakar.
