Private buses continued to be stopped from entering Vijayawada city following an announcement by the private bus operators that they would not run their services for 48 hours ending midnight, -- intervening night of Saturday-Sunday.

Meanwhile, the APNGOs continued their agitation on Saturday with the Visually challenged continuing their agitation by participating in the week-long fast. The Visakhapatnam Municipal Employees continued their agitation supporting the initiative taken up by the APNGOs.
The Municipal employees continued to boycott work for the 33rd day with the sanitation affected at several places in the city. School Assistant K. Rajasekhar sung nine verses written by him supporting a united Andhra Pradesh at the agitation venue. The relay fast continued at the venue where the JAC leader D. Eswar announced that depending on the High Court decision on a petition, the agitation would be intensified.
The Visually-Challenged employees of the State Government raised slogans and the JAC leader G. Ravindrababu told mediapersons that employees from Rayalaseema region also had come down to Vijayawada. Students from several colleges and schools held rallies at several junctions in the city.
All private hospitals and clinics will remain closed in the 13 Seemandhra districts on September 17 as part of intensifying the agitation, announced the Indian Medical Association JAC president P.V. Ramana Murthy here on Saturday. Only emergencies would be attended to, while rallies would be taken out by doctors and relay fast re-launched. It has also requested the cable operators to black out all national channels and other news channels that were not highlighting the Samaikyanadhra agitation. The local operators had blocked some of the English and Hindi channels for this reason.
