Social Welfare Joint Director R. Mallikarjuna Rao exhibited his paintings on bio diversity as a preview at Press Club here on Saturday. Mr. Rao displayed as many as 21 paintings on various themes stressing on the need to preserve the biodiversity.

The themes included, extinction of many species like tortoises, and vultures. He also underscored the importance of preserving the nature, animals, and birds and hand it over to posterity. The need to maintain the natural food chain in-tact without over exploitation of any specific species that snaps the food chain disturbing eco-system also formed part of the paintings.

The paintings, acrylic, would be displayed at Salarjung Museum from October 9 to 20 to coincide with the bio diversity conference, he said.
