Union Ministers K.Chiranjeevi and D.Purandeswari, PCC president Botcha Satyanarayana, State Minister Kolusu Parthasarathy, A.P. Official Language Commission chairman Mandali Buddha Prasad, former Rajya Sabha member and cine star Mohan Babu, and film director Raghavendra Rao were some of the VIPs that added grace and glamour to the marriage of Avinash, son of former Minister Devineni Rajasekhar, with Sudheera at the Andhra Loyola College grounds here on Friday.

Thousands of well-wishers and admirers attended the wedding held in the sprawling college grounds. Former Minister Daggubati Venkateswara Rao accompanied Ms Purandeswari. The function which went on smoothly suddenly went off track with the arrival of the popular movie star.

Mr Chiranjeevi’s fans tried to rush on to the wedding mandapam giving the security personnel a tough time. A few pieces of furniture kept on the side of the mandapam were destroyed in the melee. Though there was a lot of pushing and pulling there was no stampede fortunately. The situation returned to normal after Mr Chiranjeevi was hurriedly escorted out of the marriage venue by the police.
