Congress party to fill nominated posts soon
Gathering at the Congress Party workers meeting at which Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy addressed them at Gannavaram, saw very few of the party cadre turning up in Krishna district.
On the first day of Indiramma Baata, on Tuesday the party leaders mobilized public from Vijayawada, Hanuman Junction, Gannavaram and other areas, but many chairs in the shamiana were seen empty at the venue.
Responding to Machilipatnam MLA Perni Venkateswara Rao’s (Nani) appeal to fill nominated posts in the State, Mr. Reddy said that due to some problems those positions could not be filled. He however, assured him of filling the posts soon by giving priority to party cadre working hard. Mr. Reddy asked the cadre to take the party activities into the public and try to win all the 16 Assembly seats, in Krishna district, in the 2014 elections. The Chief Minister said that Congress was the only party which had given notification for 1.20 lakh government jobs in State and it had set a target for itself to provide employment for 3.60 lakh youths under Rajiv Yuva Kiranalu, this year.
“Government is introducing several welfare schemes for all sections, but due to Telangana agitation, we are facing problem in implementing the schemes,” he said. To overcome the power crisis, the Government was proposing to generate gas-based power (through RLNG) at Rs.9 per unit by spending Rs.300 crore per month. Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee president Botsa Satyanarayana said that the party was planning to issue identity cards for active cadre and instructions were given to the district presidents to revive mandal committees. “We never forget the services of workers, who play a key role in strengthening the party. Please do not get distressed, we will do justice to all workers in the party”, the PCC chief added.
Later, the Chief Minister participated in some programmes at Tadigadapa, Auto Nagar, Vuyyuru and Pamarru. He addressed a public meeting at Kaikaluru and interacted with inmates of BC Welfare Hostel there.
