Police to keep vigil on anti-social elements in Krishna district

With elections to local bodies expected in a few months, Krishna District police authorities have geared up to keep a vigil on anti-social elections in the district. Superintendent of Police J. Prabhakara Rao on Tuesday reviewed the crime rate with DSPs and Circle Inspectors and directed them to become proactive.

Speaking to newsmen, Mr. Prabhakara Rao said that vigil focussing on the movements and activities of 911 rowdies in the district will be intensified.

“Cases related to revelation of gender during pre-natal diagnostic tests at testing centres will be registered based on the reports or complaints from the public,” he added.

On the services of the family counselling centre, Machilipatnam, Mr. Prabhakar said; “As many as 117 cases related to disputes between couples were solved in the last five months, against registered 158 cases.”

It is also learnt that the police authorities have decided to open rowdy sheets against the persons against whom two cases have been registered.
