Police firing: injured person loses kidney

P. Narasimha Rao, who suffered bullet injury above the hip in police firing at G. Konduru on Sunday, lost one kidney. Doctors who performed surgery removed the kidney which was damaged due to bullet injury.

An auto driver, Narasimha Rao (25), reportedly came to the spot in support of Mylavaram Circle Inspector U. Bangaru Raju, who opened fire on the protestors. “Due to bullet injury, the kidney was badly damaged. To save the patient, the kidney was removed”, said the hospital authorities.

Along with Narasimha Rao – three other persons S. Krishna Rao, G. Venkat Rao and S.V. Surya Narayana – suffered injuries in firing. A bullet hit Krishna Rao from behind in his shoulder and doctors performed surgery on him on Monday. He was kept in Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and his condition is critical, said the doctors.

Superintendent of Police J. Prabhakara Rao said that the condition of the other two patients, who suffered injuries on leg and abdomen was stable.
