City Police Commissioner N. Madhusudhan Reddy has directed the police officers to concentrate on ‘missing cases' and on prevention of road accidents.

Participating in the crime review meeting here on Tuesday, Mr. Reddy asked the investigation officers to act swiftly on missing cases and prepare a record of the traced persons.

As there is a possibility of thefts during the summer season, the commissioner asked the police to track the ex-offenders and the convicts who were released from jails in the city.

Mr. Madhusudhan Reddy also instructed the police to enlighten the police on different types of robberies that take place during summer and take measures to prevent crime.

As regards road accidents, the commissioner said about 34 road mishaps occurred in February this year, of which nine accidents took place on Bandar Road and six occurred on National Highway 5. Most of the accidents occurred between 10 am and 6 p.m.

The commissioner asked the police to identify the accident spots and develop roads. He asked to conduct joint patrolling with transport department and take steps to avoid road accidents, he said.

Mr. Reddy complimented the ‘dedicated teams' which detected major cases under various police station limits in the city and presented awards for 46 police personnel for exhibiting extraordinary performance in cracking the cases.
