Law Minister K. Ravindra on Sunday said that an action plan was being chalked out to lay new roads in the town with the financial grant offered by the State government as well as funds from the MLA and MP Local Area Development Scheme (LADS).
Mr. Ravindra, accompanied by MP K. Narayana, on Sunday performed bhumi puja for laying a 560-metre road in the 15th ward here.
Addressing the gathering, Mr. Ravindra claimed that almost 75% of roads had been laid in the town and the rest would be completed with local area development funds.
“The State government has sanctioned ₹40 crore for development of roads in Machilipatnam municipality. The action plan will aim at completing the remaining 25% of the roads,” he added.
Municipal Chairperson M. Baba Prasad was among those present.
