Pehchan card must for ESI services

Employees State Insurance Corporation In-charge Joint Director K.R. Ravi Kumar has said Pehchan card will be made mandatory for availing medical facilities under the ESI scheme.

“The temporary identity cards will be valid for only 30 days, and employees cannot avail medical benefits without Pehchan cards at ESI panel clinics, dispensaries and hospitals after 30 days from the date of registration of temporary identity cards,” he added.

Permanent Pehchan camps are being conducted at branch offices of ESI Corporation at Kakinada, Rajahmundry, Tanuku, Eluru, Gandhinagar (Vijayawada), Autonagar (Vijayawada), Guntur and Nellore. There are plans to launch camps at ESI Hospitals in Rajahmundry and Vijayawada (Gunadala), said a press release.
