Pedana MLA-elect Kagita Venkat Rao has been hospitalised after he complained of severe chest pain. His condition is said to be stable.

Mr. Venkat Rao’s associates rushed him to a private hospital in the city on Monday. Doctors diagnosed that there was a rise in sugar levels and BP. The TDP leader underwent angioplasty exactly a year ago.

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu called on Dr. Pallam Peddeswara Rao of the hospital and asked him to take necessary measures to improve Mr. Rao’s health.

Minister Devineni Umamaheswara Rao visited the hospital to enquire about his health condition. Later, speaking to the reporters, he said that Mr. Rao took part in election campaign and strived for the success of the party in elections though his health condition was not good. The doctors were trying to bring down sugar and BP levels, he said.

Dr. Peddeswara Rao Rao said that the BP was above 200 and sugar was 250. He has been under medical observation ever since he underwent angioplasty. It would take some more time to discharge him, he said.
