Up to the party leadership to react to the resignations, says Lagadapati
The Pradesh Congress Committee president Botcha Satyanarayana will formally unveil the statue of former Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy at the Control Room Centre in the city on Friday.
Making this announcement here at a press conference, Vijayawada MP Lagadapati Rajagopal along with Vijayawada Central MLA Malladi Vishnu said that this will be the first visit of the Pradesh Congress Committee chief to the city and the statue was installed to pay homage to the great leader, who took forward many people-friendly schemes of the Congress Government.
At the press conference the MP was asked to air his comments on the resignation of Telangana MPs, but he refused to talk.
“It is up to the Central leadership to take a decision and react to the resignations,” he said. This was not the proper forum or time to say anything, he added.
Abruptly ending the meeting, he left the District Congress office and mediapersons chased him for some distance, but he refused to react on any aspect of Telangana.
Mr. Satyanarayana along with Rajya Sabha member KVP Ramachandra Rao will land at Gannavaram airport at 2.50 p.m. and would be brought to the venue in a massive rally of cars, said Mr. Rajagopal.
At 3.30 p.m. on that day he would unveil the statue and later address a public meeting at the Tummalapalli Kshetrayya Kalakshetram.
The incharge district Congress Committee president Naraharisetti Narasimha Rao and Congress leader Pyla Sominaidu said that District and city Congress committees would jointly organise the function.
