P.B. Siddhartha students excel in youth festival

Students representing various colleges affiliated to the Krishna University (KRU) on Tuesday enthralled the audience with their solo and group performances at the Youth Festival here.

The KRU’s National Service Scheme unit has organised the annual event on the National College Auditorium. Siddhartha Degree College bagged the first place in group dance (Western) while Nalanda and S.P.M. Hindu College bagged second and third places respectively.

In classical dance and music event, B. Akhila Reddy of Nalanda College won the first place for her Kuchipudi performance. Violinist Sujitha of P.B. Siddhartha Degree College bagged the first place in instrumental music category.

At least 50 students from across the district participated in the 17 categories including folk and other creative events. KRU Vice-Chancellor V. Venkaiah gave away prizes to the winners. Addressing the students, Mr. Venakaih urged them to equip with creative skills besides academic excellence.
