An array of paintings and photographs are on display at the exhibition hall of M. S. Murthi LalitKala Art Gallery in Mutyalampadu. The paintings and photographs by four artistes, from different genres and styles, are attracting the visitors.

Organised by The Andhra Academy of Arts, it involves the efforts of a group of passionate artists who believe that enabling a shared space for artistes with different areas of expertise and varied experiences would enrich the art and promote healthy exchange and learning. The paintings of Mallik, D. Durga Prasada Rao, Y. Ramakrishna, P. Srujan and photographs of A. Babu Rajendra Prasad are on display.

The organisers felicitated noted artists T. Venkat Rao and N. Babu Rao. Dr. NTR University of Health Sciences Registrar S. Babu Lal inaugurated the inauguration of art and photo exhibition at M. S. Murthi LalitKala Art Gallery at Mutyalampadu. On the occasion, Dr. Babu Lal said that it was remarkable that the organisers had brought together such an “eclectic mix” of paintings. It was heartening to see the Academy was encouraging the artists through exhibitions such as this, he said.

The artists fill the environs around them with positive energies. Infact, the art has that power. By encouraging the art and artists, a positive attitude could be brought in the people. When kings and kingdoms were there, the artists enjoyed very good patronage. But, in democracy that kind of trend was not seen. The society should come forward and support the artists, he said.

Academy honourary secretary M. V. Sai Babu said that the exhibition was being organised as part of golden jubilee celebrations. The Academy was felicitating the veteran artists who won accolades at national level. K. Seshagiri Rao, V. Kameswara Rao and B.A. Reddy were felicitated. The academy has plans to felicitate Vaikuntam shortly, he said.
