Over 60,000 devotees had a darshan of Goddess Kanakadurga atop Indrakeeladri on the second day of the five-day Bhavani Deeksha Viramana on Monday.
Clad in red robes, devotees from different parts of the State continued to pour in by different modes of transport right from the early hours.
The pilgrim turnout was high on Monday as majority of devotees will not prefer to relinquish their deeksha on Tuesday. The devotees were allowed into the temple to have darshan of the presiding deity from as early as 3 a.m. and the darshan continued till 11 p.m. The rush continued till night and several devotees thronged the temple during the evening. The Indrakeeladri hill was illuminated for the occasion.
City Police Commissioner Gautam Sawang along with DCP, Traffic, K.T. Rana inspected the arrangements being made for the devotees near Canal Road and tonsure hall. He instructed the officials to deploy additional forces on Canal Road to monitor the rush and regulate the movement of devotees.
