Over 20,000 students write SSC exam

Sub-Collector D. Harichandana on Thursday said a total of 20,560 students were writing SSC examinations in Vijayawada division alone.

Speaking after going around exam centres set up at Montessori Educational Institutions, Zilla Parishad Boys’ High School at Patamata, Kennedy Public School at Kanuru and Zilla Parishad High School at Kankipadu, Ms. Harichandana said the students were writing their exam in 78 centres spread across the division.

To prevent malpractices like mass-copying, 1134 invigilators and five flying squads had been deployed. Section 144 had been imposed at all exam centres, she informed, adding that the exam centres were equipped with basic amenities like drinking water supply and provision first aid facility.

Krishna District Deputy Education Officer M.V. Krishna Reddy, Penamaluru tehsildar Ch. Ramakrishna and others were present.
