Dr. Rao will address a gathering at Navajeevan Bala Vikasa Kendram, Autonagar first cross road, near Indira Gandhi Park, at 5 p.m., to explain the various cancers that affect women and the need for an early detection for prevention of the disease.

He will also be counselling the individual women who need guidance in finding more about the disease. All are invited.

The National Day of Gynaecological Cancers marks the birthday of V. Shanta, well-known Chennai-based oncologist and Ramon Magsaysay award winner, and the Indian Society of Oncologists has given a call for taking up several awareness programmes on the occasion.
