The National Service Scheme unit of MVR College of Engineering and Technology at Paritala conducted a seminar on “Youth Leadership and Personality Development” at which Chigurupati and Kambhampati Youth Leadership Academy Director Kambhampati Kiran advised students on Wednesday to develop analytical skills to solve problems on a day-to-day basis.
According to NASSCOM, 85 per cent of graduate engineers are not suitable for employment as they are lagging in employable skills. The major concern of the industries was that most of the engineering graduates did not have leadership skills and ethical values, he added. Addressing a huge gathering of about 900 students and staff of MVR, he wanted them to put to practice what they learnt in such seminars and workshops so that their personality changed for the better.
Member of the Legislative Council Chigurupati Varaprasad said that the greatness of Indian culture was adjustable mentality as majority of the people in India came under the category of middle class. India was the land of knowledge, opportunities, but most of the people did not adhere to moral values because of the influence of western culture and traditions, he said. Speaking on “Youth Leadership with Service and Moral Values”, he opined that a student's knowledge must be global, his office must be ti-tech but his home must have middle class atmosphere with moral values then only he could understand the importance of parenthood. Positive thinking guided students in the right direction and character was more important than obtaining knowledge, he added. In the coming years Indian youth would play a dominating role not only in India but also in other nations by 2020 as no other country in the world has such a large young populationChairman of the college M.
