Addressing students of N. St. Mathew’s Public School at a meeting organised in connection with the school investiture ceremony, he said school managements must work relentlessly to inculcate leadership qualities in students at an early age. He said that in today’s competitive world, discipline played a key role in grooming a child into a responsible citizen.
School Principal Bro. Prathap Reddy said the endeavour of the institution was to identify the hidden talent of individuals and encourage them in the respective areas. Speaking about the high academic standards maintained by the school, he said of the total 189 students who appeared for the CBSE exams 2012 in March this year, 52 had secured a highest cumulative of 10 points, 60 others had passed out with 9.8—9 points while 51 of them fell into the 8.8—8 points group.
Tenth class students K. Gokul and Disha P. Desai were given responsibilities as boys’ leaders and girls’ leader respectively besides institution of leaders for various houses and clubs. The meeting was followed by prize distribution to students who won various competitions in different fields.
Vice-Principal C. A. James, Middle School Superintendent M.S.B. Paul and high school Superintendent N. Chandrasekhar distributed scholarships on behalf of the School Math and Science Club to students who got highest marks in the two subjects.
