District Collector S.A.M. Rizvi has served a show cause notice on Sri Durga Malleswara Swamyvarla Devasthanam Executive Officer (EO) M. Raghunath over alleged violation of protocol during the visit of Union Minister of State for Handlooms and Textiles Panabaka Lakshmi.

The Collector has asked Social Welfare Joint Director Prasad to inquire into the protocol violation. When contacted, Joint Collector Gaurav Uppal said that the Collector had served notices on his own and there were remote chances of a written compliant from the Minister.

The notices were served asking an explanation from the EO. The Union Minister was unhappy over the reception, the Joint Collector said. The inquiry was yet to be completed, he said.

Mr. Raghunath said that he as the EO of the temple had received the notices. The inquiry officer was requested to come on Wednesday in view of the ongoing festival and relinquishment of Bhavani deeksha, he said, adding, “We will apprise him that there was no violation of protocol.”
