New psychiatric care centre inaugurated

Psychiatrist Kodali Madhavi along with husband and dentist Nalluru Seshidhar addressing a press conference said that they have been teaching at different institutions while simultaneously extending services to the public in their respective fields through private practices.

Dr. Madhavi said that she has been teaching psychiatry as Assistant Professor at the Pinnamaneni-Siddhartha Institute of Medical Sciences and Research Foundation while she was practicing. She said that the teaching assignment was of great value to her practice and the practice of value to her teaching job.

She said that the incidence of psychiatric disorders were on the rise because of the increased stress people were facing both at home and outside, particularly the work place.

Explaining broadly the kind of therapies and other services Dr Madhavi said psychotherapy, psychological counselling, marital counselling, behavioural therapy, de-addiction therapy, teenage counselling, child guidance, relaxation therapy and stress management would be available to the patents at the hospital.

She said that problems like depression, sleep disorders, memory disorders, fits and head ache were also related to psychiatry.

She said free consultation would be provided to poor students on every first Saturday at the hospital near Benz Circle, she said.
