Krishna District Superintendent of Police J. Prabhakara Rao on Monday inaugurated a water purification unit set up involving a cost of Rs. 1.4 lakh at the Police Welfare Water Plant at Machilipatnam.

The new machinery, installed with capacity of 2,000 litre storage facility, would supply safe drinking water to police personal as well as public. Mr. Prabhakara Rao also inaugurated a dormitory at the district headquarters where police personnel would stay during their special duties.

“Modernisation of the existing dormitory will solve hospitality problems for the personnel who often visit Machilipatnam on duty,” Mr. Rao said. Since Mr. Rao was expected to assume charge as the Commander of the APSP third battalion, Kakinada, in coming weeks, he interacted with senior police officials and other staff during the inspection of the police welfare activities.

Officer on Special Duty R. Hrishikesava Reddy, Bandar Deputy Superintendent of Police K. V. Srinivasa Rao and other senior officials were also present.
