: Prof. Venkatesh Athreya of Bharatidasan University stressed the need for confronting the attacks by corporate Hindutva forces against universities and society in India.

Prof Venkatesh was addressing a gathering of students and activists at the seminar on ‘Patriotism-Divergent Views’ organised by CITU and MB Vignana Kendram in the city on Saturday.

“RSS and Sangh Parivar which had no role in the freedom struggle are now preaching patriotism. These organisations are attacking the unity of various cultures in the country. The BJP, which is chanting patriotism in the name of Make in India, is enthusiastic about FDI in the country,” he added. Former MLC K.S. Lakshman Rao, CITU president S. Punyavathi, and general secretary M.A. Gafoor were among those present.
