Senior BJP leader M.Venkaiah Naidu said that the entire nation wants to see Narendra Modi as Prime Minister of India and added that he had become the ‘darling of the common man.’ People were impressed with the rapid strides which Gujarat was making under his able leadership, said Mr Naidu.
He launched the ‘Modi for PM’ campaign at PWD Grounds here on Wednesday and said that in Gujarat for the last ten years there was no tension but only attention towards development.
‘Cong. losing ground’Quoting President Pranab Mukherjee’s comment that instability was one of the biggest dangers to the country, Mr. Naidu said that the country required 3 Ds—dynamism, decisiveness and development—which Mr. Modi alone could provide. The Congress had lost the trust of the people to such an extent that the people were averse to it now more than during the emergency. Recent elections in four States stand testimony to this, he said.
Rejecting the third front possibility, Mr. Naidu said the third front idea is a “tried and failed experiment” which would never become a reality.
Cine actor and former Union Minister U V Krishnam Raju, State general secretary Jannula Kishore, ex-MLA K. Hari Babu, BJP city president D. Umamaheswara Raju and others were present.
Many join BJPMeanwhile, many leaders from other parties and various walks of life joined the party in the presence of Mr Naidu. Former TDP leader Yerneni Sita Devi was one of the prominent leaders who joined the party, while some others expressed their support to the BJP.
Those who met Mr. Naidu included Andhra Chamber of Commerce and Industry president Mutavarapu Murali Krishna, Enikepadu Industrial Estate Association president J J Prakash, and Vijayawada Builders Association A. Nagamalleswara Rao.
