Suspense over ticket to Vijayawada Parliamentary constituency in-charge Kesineni Srinivas (Nani) ended with TDP president N. Chandrababu Naidu handing him over the ‘B’ form at Hyderabad on Tuesday. The Hindu got the whiff of things that were unfolding and it reported – “TDP clears Nani’s name for Vijayawada LS”, which went on to become the talk of the town.
A high drama unfolded with the news flashing that the Telugu Desam president was toying with the idea of fielding industrialist Potluri Vara Prasad from Vijayawada.
High dramaEducationist Koneru Satyanarayana and Telugu Association of North America (TANA) former president Komati Jayaram names have also cropped up, keeping Mr. Nani on tenterhooks.
With Mr. Vara Prasad’s entry the ticket episode took new turn.
The TDP president reportedly summoned Mr. Nani to Hyderabad to discuss the issue and the stalemate continued for two days.
Mr. Nani stayed put at Hyderabad and vowed to return to Vijayawada only with the ‘B’ form. “I am happy my chief kept his promise made in 2013. Despite pressures from various quarters Mr. Naidu honoured my hardwork and gave me the ticket.”
