In what could spell trouble for the fledgling TDP-BJP alliance, TDP president N. Chandrababu Naidu said the BJP is fielding “weak candidates” in the elections.

Mr. Naidu, during his road show here on Thursday, said the TDP’s ambitious plans to play a key role at the Centre would go haywire if the present BJP candidates were to be considered. The TDP had agreed to BJP’s demand for four Lok Sabha and 14 Assembly constituencies in Seemandhra region. “The BJP has not chosen the right candidates. We will be handing over the victory on a platter to opponents. It will hamper TDP’s possibilities at the Centre,” he said.
