May 06, 2014 12:22 am | Updated 12:23 am IST - VIJAYAWADA:

Telugu Desam Party (TDP) president N. Chandrababu Naidu visited the Kanaka Durga temple atop Indrakeeladri here after concluding his whirlwind election tour in Seemandhra on Monday.

He took part in roadshows in Krishna and Guntur districts on the final leg of the campaign.

As Model Code is in force, the temple authorities did not accord him protocol.

Neither was there the traditional ‘aaservachanam’ at the mantapam for the TDP chief. However, priests accompanied him to the temple from reception area.

Senior Telugu Desam Party leaders Garikapati Rammohan Rao, Sujana Chowdary MP, Nannapaneni Rajakumari MLC, party district president Devineni Umamaheswara Rao, Vijayawada parliamentary constituency in-charge Kesineni Srinivas (Nani) and urban president Buddha Venkanna accompanied him.

The 13 districts of Seemandhra will simultaneously go for polls on May 7, and elect representatives for 25 Lok Sabha and 175 Assembly constituencies.
