Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has made a strong pitch for investments in the new State which has several advantages in terms of extended coastline and rich mineral wealth spread evenly across the 13 districts.
Mr. Naidu, who held a meeting with an industrial delegation led by Singapore’s Trade and Industry Second Minister S. Iswaran, explained about the opportunities offered by the State through its industry-friendly policies. Mr. Naidu was back to his previous avatar wherein he effectively marketed the State during his previous stint as Chief Minister of the united A.P. He made a video and power point presentation on the vast mineral wealth, existing industries and the action plan put in place by the State government for ensuring accelerated industrialisation in the coming days.
The extended coastline, existing ports and the new ones proposed for development, road and rail connectivity as well as efforts to provide uninterrupted power supply to industry formed part of the presentation.
Mr. Naidu visited the Centre for Liveable Cities and inspected the Singapore City Gallery. He held discussions with officials on the development of three mega cities and 13 smart cities proposed by the State government.
The delegation later visited Marina Bay and Singapore Port Authority where issues pertaining to transport, exports and imports were discussed.
