Novel display of models on Controlling Traffic Problems in Vijayawada, inter-linking of Indian rivers to solve water crisis, Tirupati escalator, Bandra Warli sea link connecting North Mumbai to South Mumbai, MVR College building, Benz circle flyover, Eiffel Tower, step walk to control traffic were some of the highlights of MVR Technotsav 2K12.
The utsav that ended on Saturday saw performances of students through a skit on different social issues, innovative methods of power generation, latest technology in the field of construction, models of computers, fashion show, classical and western dance, Telugu poetry, extempore speech, creative writing, and kites fiesta.
These competitions and cultural events at the two-day festival held at the MVR College of Engineering and Technology, Paritala, lured many technocrats across India. The national festival saw 1,800 aspirants from different engineering and management colleges participating and showcasing their projects or skills.
On the inaugural day 1,200 students participated and presented 400 technical papers.
On the second day, 500 students participated in various cultural events.
To develop organising and marketing skills, the management of the college allotted stalls to the students to market their products.
Many MBA and engineering students put up stalls and did good business. At the valedictory of the Technotsav college chairman M. Srinivas Babu, Principal K.V. Sambasiva Rao and other heads of the departments were present. Prizes valued at Rs.1 lakh were distributed to the winners.
