Music students excel in Trinity exam

Saraswathi Academy, which imparts training in western music, has achieved cent percent results in the theory grade examinations in keyboard, guitar and violin conducted by Trinity College of Music, London, every six months, according to founder director K. Sehsacharyulu here on Saturday.

In a release, he said out of eight students, two achieved distinction, four qualified with merit and the other two got pass marks. He said the academy was operating from three centres training students in western and Carnatic music. “We are planning to send 20 students for the prestigious exam for the coming batch. At present the examination centres are in Hyderabad and Chennai. We are planning to get a centre in Vijayawada,” he added.

He said professors, doctors, government officers, teachers, housewives and retired employees were undergoing training in their institutes. “Students are also coming from Nuzvid, Gannavaram, Machilipatnam, Gudivada, Bapatla and Tenali. These classes are held weekly twice with a duration of 45 minutes for each class,” he added.
