Briefing mediapersons here on Thursday, Circle Inspector Ch. Murali Krishna said that the deceased went missing since May 27, and his father Yesu Babu lodged a complaint with the police on June 10.

The villagers found the body of Kotaiah on Budameru Katta, near water tank on June 11. During investigation, it was revealed that the victim died of head injury.

Police suspected the role of Daniel, who used to move closely with Kotaiah. The deceased was a native of Kondapalli village.

On May 27, Kotaiah and Daniel reportedly consumed liquor near the water tank and entered into a fight. Daniel allegedly hit Kotaiah with a boulder on his head.

When he fell in a pool of blood, the accused allegedly fled from the spot, said the CI.
