Vijayawada MP Kesineni Srinivas (Nani) asked the Vijayawada Guntur Tenali Mangalagiri Urban Development Authority (VGTMUDA) authorities to speed up the contruction of Gunadala fyover.

The MP held a review meeting with UDA officials on pending projects and proposals, here on Monday.

On the occasion, Mr. Srinivas said that the under-construction flyover collapsed more than six months ago. There was an inordinate delay in executing works there after, he pointed out.

The MP made a few suggestions to the Outer Ring Road (ORR) and asked the officials to take it up at the earliest.

Permission needed

The UDA officials explained him that various projects were pending for various reasons, including delay in government permissions. They said that the UDA has plans to develop Vijayasri to promote tourism in the region. The project would be taken up under Public Private Partnership (PPP) mode.

The UDA also proposes to construct a check dam near Pulipaka to impound water there. The check dam would be helpful to meet drinking water requirements apart from using it for recreational activities like boating, they said.
