Mothers with chronic cancer felicitated

The Roots Health Foundation on Sunday felicitated three elderly women suffering from chronic cancer at the Roots Hospice, a palliative cancer care centre run by the foundation.

P. Bhagyam, Vemulapal Taara and B. Leelavati, who are suffering different types of cancer, were felicitated by the members of their respective families and the members of the care centre.

The three are inmates of the care centre at Ayyappa Nagar which is taking care of them.

ACP (Traffic) D. Sravan who took part in the programme said parents should be given support by their wards all through their life and be more attentive when they were crippled with diseases in old age.

Roots Health Foundation Chairperson Dr. P. Vijaya Bhaskar stressed the need for timely checkups for elderly people to help detect chronic diseases if any.
