Mockery of democracy, says TDP

May 27, 2016 12:00 am | Updated 05:44 am IST - VIJAYAWADA:

The TDP flayed YSR Congress for its decision to field V. Vijaya Sai Reddy for the Rajya Sabha election. Addressing a press conference here on Thursday, Ministers P. Pulla Rao and K. Atchanaidu came down heavily on YSRC president Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy for making a mockery of democracy by selecting Mr. Vijaya Sai Reddy, an accused in 12 cases.

Mr. Jaganmohan Reddy feared that Mr. Vijaya Sai Reddy would spill the beans if he was not given RS ticket. Mr. Jaganmohan Reddy and Mr. Vijaya Sai Reddy were accused in economic offences, they alleged.

Stating that former Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy embarked on ‘operation akarsh’, they said that the TDP was not resorting to any such acts.
