Pedana MLA and Samaikyandhra movement leader Jogi Ramesh has threatened to stop the entry of ‘Vastunna Meekosam’ by TDP president N. Chandrababu Naidu into Krishna district on January 21.

Addressing a press conference here on Sunday Mr. Ramesh said that Mr. Chandrababu Naidu had in a letter to the Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde made it clear that his party was for a separate Telangana State. The farmers of Krishna district would be the worst hit if the State was divided, he said. Joining voice with other Samaikyandhra forces, Mr. Ramesh said that he would block Mr. Naidu’s entry through the Jaggaiahaiapet Assembly constituency.

The MLA recalled how many Telugu Desam MLAs from Krishna district resigned when a decision was announced to begin the process for the separation of Telangana. Mylavaram MLA Devineni Umamaheswara Rao resigned and launched a ‘fast-unto-death’. Party MLC Y.B. Rajendra Prasad too resigned from the Legislative Council.

Senior party leaders of TDP like Yenamala Ramakrishnudu too resigned, but the party had now changed its stand, he observed.

Asked to comment on Secondary Education Minister K. Parthasarathi’s statement that he would abide by the decision of the Central Government even if it was in favour of a separate Telangana, the MLA evaded a direct answer saying he was against all who were for the division of the State.
