Flood waters flowing into Prakasam Barrage reservoir has given rise to different activity in an around the masonry structure in Vijayawada. This has literally infused life back into River Krishna with fish occasionally making an appearance jumping out of the waters and a flock of predatory birds keeping a watch to nab them at the first available opportunity. Flowers on the river bund also have blossomed to give a touch of different colours. The Hindu photographer V. Raju captures the life around the Prakasam Barrage.
A fresh spell of heavy rain on Monday evening created traffic problems, and many were caught unawares. Traffic lights created a beautiful scene, as the inundated roads reflected all colours. Heavy rains in the catchment area of Krishna River also brought water into Nagarjunasagar Project, K.L. Rao Sagar Pulichintala Project and officials released water from Prakasam Barrage also on Tuesday. Water gushed out of 12 crest gates of the N’sagar Dam on Monday. The Hindu lensmen Ch. Vijaya Bhaskar, V. Raju and Singam Venaktaramana capture all the hues of rain and life around.
