Asks Collector to look into grievances regarding land pattas

Animal Husbandry Minister K. Parthasarathy asked the district administration to speed up the land acquisition process for taking up the developmental projects proposed by the Vijayawada Municipal Corporation (VMC), here on Saturday.

Dumping yard

Addressing a city development committee meeting, he said that more than 700 acre of land has to be acquired for the Corporation's projects including a dumping yard.

The Vijayawada Municipal Corporation is proposing to construct a dumping yard at Nunna in 100 acre of land. Similarly, another 500 acre of land at Vedurupavuluru and 100 acre at Devi Nagar and 70 acre of Wakf land has to be alienated to the VMC, he said.

Referring to land pattas issue, he asked district Collector Peeyush Kumar to examine the grievances of people who were not issued pattas for various reasons. All the grievances that could be sorted out at district collector level should be cleared immediately, he said.

Earlier, people from 23{+r}{+d} and 24{+t}{+h} divisions in the city led by former MLA Devineni Rajasekhar submitted memoranda to the minister, and told him that pattas were not issued on various counts.

Krishna district collector Peeyush Kumar, Joint Collector Gaurav Uppal, Municipal Commissioner G. Ravi Babu, Deputy Mayor S. P. Gritton and others were present.
