Navajeevan Bala Bhavan (NJBB), being run by Don Bosco Navajeevan, launched a migrant desk for the children of the labourers who migrated to Krishna and the neighbouring places from other States and districts.

Railway Protection Force (RPF) senior divisional security commissioner S.R. Gandhi and Vijayawada Railway Station Superintendent Ch. Suresh inaugurated the migrant desk at NJBB, near the railway station here on Wednesday.

Hazardous conditions

Don Bosco National Young at Risk coordinator Fr. Tony and NJBB executive director Fr Bala Showrysaid the new desk would help to enrol the children in migrant families and provide security for them.

Mr. Gandhi praised Navajeevan Bala Bhavan for opening separate desk for migrant children aimed at providing health and education for the kids of migrant labour families.

Programme coordinator Joseph Donald said many children are living in hazardous conditions at brick kilns, quarries, construction sites and fish ponds at Amaravathi, Vijayawada and at other places in Krishna district.
