The 119th birth anniversary of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar was celebrated on a grand scale in Sri Potti Sriramulu Nellore district on Wednesday.

Zilla Parishad chairman Kakani Goverdhan Reddy, MLAs Balli Durga Prasad, Parasa Venkata Ratnam, Kurugondla Ramakrishna and Beeda Mastan Rao and Collector K. Ramgopal garlanded Ambedkar's statue at Venkatagiri Rajah's College Centre. Vikrama Simhapuri University Vice-Chancellor C.R. Visweswara Rao, Registrar V. Narayana Reddy, and Computer Science HoD T. Sudha recalled the services of the leader .

Tributes paid

Statue unveiled

Anantapur Staff Reporter writes: State Minister for Agriculture N. Raghuveera Reddy unveiled the bronze statue of Ambedkar at the ZP office junction here on Wednesday. Collector B. Janardhan Reddy was present.
