MLAs Velampalli Srinivas (Vijayawada West), Malladi Vishnu (Vijayawada Central) and former Mayor Mallika Begum held a meeting with Municipal Commissioner G. Ravi Babu on ongoing development works in the city on Sunday.

Mr. Srinivas and Ms. Begum raised issues concerning One Town, while Mr. Vishnu joined them at the fag end of the session and brought the issues pertaining to his constituency to the notice of Mr. Ravi Babu. Mr. Srinivas pointed out that the Vijayawada Municipal Corporation (VMC) did not complete any of the works like underground drainage, roads in One Town and hilly areas, causing inconvenience to people. The MLA felt that the Vijayawada West constituency was being neglected, while works in other Assembly segments in the city were progressing well. The Commissioner told them that the works would be completed before the end of May. The roads would be re-laid where the UGD works were completed. This would be completed before the end of March. The remaining roads would be completed before May. He also told them that the drains would be cleared before the onset of monsoon to ensure hassle-free discharge of rain water.
